In case anyone with a heliograph or just a handheld mirror wants to arrange to send messages to others on adjacent hilltops you can arrange it through LU2 the heliograph page on Facebook.
Best wishes

Hello Robert Watson.
I was also at 10 Sigs during the first half of 1974 doing the last 6 months of my service there.
I wonder if you remember seeing the season preview show of the White Helmets there. The comedian Dick Emery was a guest and went up on one of the pyramids.
He arrived on his own motorcycle.

Hi. I served in 10 Sig Regiment from 1970 - 74. My name was Taff Watson - Comcen Operator. My best mate was Dave McCombie. Unfortunately we’ve lost touch. I was posted to Berlin where I finished my time as L/Cpl. I went on to join the Fire Brigade and did my time there. Now living in the North East near Durham.

Mike Re the problem of using a bank card to make a donation, what I had to do was remove all bank card numbers, and then start again with the current number that is being used.

Hi, I have been donating for years via credit card, or Paypal. Unable to use Paypal and the donate via Visa card will not action.
Is there any way round this?

Mike Graham Monday, 18 January 2021 18:40
Dave. Thanks for trying.
I’ve no idea why Paypal won’t accept your donation - I’ve had one similar comment before but the donor then advised it worked when he tried it again.
Unfortunately because I don’t live in the U.K. accepting cheques is a problem. I could PM you U.K. bank account details but you might not want to go that route, which I understand perfectly.
