Having spent 18 months in Egypt,1954-5,
there was an wild animal always referred to as a "Pyard". This word,I believe, is an Indian description for a wild dog, but dogs are mainly diurnal, and the Pyard was nocturnal. Has anyone identified just what the Egyptian Pyard was ?
I have even asked Egyptians, and none knew of it. My guess is that it is a fox.
It has nagged at me for years, for it's identity.
