I knew Brian in Singapore and kept in contact through this site. It is sad news to hear about his latest ordeal. Thinking of him at this difficult time.

Dear Jo, what devasting news, although I have never met Brian I regard him as an old friend through his group contact. Having lost my wife through cancer I can sympathize with the stress you must be enduring at this time. Brian has untold friends in our extended Signals family and I am sure all are praying for him and yourself. Stay strong Jo, our thoughts are with you

The founder of this site, Brian Streetly, let us know here that he wasn't enjoying the best of health.
Brian's wife Jo sent this update to a good friend of theirs, Alan Turner, and has given me permission to post it here:
Hello Alan. I thought I should update you on Brian's condition.
As you know he was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer at the end of 2017. It had been contained for about a year but this summer showed signs of spreading mainly to his throat/neck area and to his brain. Chemotherapy was started and he has had 3 cycles.
However although stable in the body it is spreading in the brain. Since Friday his condition has worsened. He can no longer look after himself. His conversation is often random. I am now his full time carer. Chemotherapy has now been stopped.
As you can imagine I am devastated and cannot bear to see him in this state. He can no longer use his laptops etc. which I feel is frustrating him.....
We have missed the RSA meetings but since his initial diagnosis have not felt travelling to Ilford of an evening has been possible. Please give our regards to everyone at the RSA and tell them we often think of them. Best wishes Jo

I'm sure we all wish Brian and Jo all the very best and will keep them in our thoughts at this time.

I would very much like to touch base with Alan James Oldham or Jimmy Oldham as we knew him. Jimmy was my best man at my wedding in Cyprus back in 1965. I served in 261 Signal Squadron, 7 Signal Regiment, Gan Island, Warminster, 261 Air Formation back in Cyprus, Maastricht and a brilliant posting to Hong Kong.
Sad to hear Bob "Taff" Wathen has passed away; he was a good man and first class lineman.
Anyone knows of Jimmy's whereabouts I would be most grateful. Thank you in anticipation. John Telford

We have our own 233 Sig Sqn Facebook page, why not join us? The last reunion was 18 months ago, I remember you from there. Let me know how you are doing. In regular contact with Graeme McCormack and Nigel Robbo Robson

Why not publish your reunions on our Reunion page?
That way those who have more sense than to go near Faceache with the proverbial ten-foot migth see it and get a chance to come along.
Then, of course, send in your photos of the reunion which can then be published here.

Steve Bressloff came to our home invited by my sister Valerie Harris who, with her husband Ray, served in Cyprus with Steve.
He called on us unexpectedly on Good Friday. I was only ten and after a lovely day, fed and watered, we took him to the station on the bus.
What a lovely guy: great fun and a really rounded person.
I’d love to meet him again.

Hello, I am looking for anyone that served with the 87th Sigs T&AVR in Nottingham as a reservist. The names I can remember are sisters Sally and Thea, also RSM Tindall. We were there in the 1960s. Know it’s a bit of a long shot but would love to hear from you.
