Hi all,
Just to wish all ex signallers a belated happy new year etc.Great site and congratulations for that.
Have just replied direct to his email addres - Adrian Williams (Taffy), who mentioned that he hadn't come across anyone who had served in Tel el Kebir, Egypt. I did - 1955 and servde as a young Sgt with 51 Lorried Inf Bde Signal Tp. The OC was Capt Norman Gallyer and the 2i/c was 2lt Michie. The other Sgt with me was big Bill Leach, and if you see this Bill, best regards etc.

What a website, well done very interesting to read through it all.
I was in 7 Sigs from 85 to 89, then 19 Inf bde hq and sig sqn from 89 to 92 then moved up to catterick when they became 19 Mech bde hq and sig sqn and stayed there until 96, then i moved to the signals platoon in warminster as part of the infantry training centre until 99 when i left, i am now working as a senior communications manager for a large japanese computer firm. If anyone know me then please get in contact as I have met up with a couple guys from the 7 sigs days.

Anyone from 2 Agra Sigs Ferry Point Ismalia 51-54 then colchester 54-55 I am sure there must be someone out there who was in one of these units? i have been looking for nearly two years without a word from anyone. any takers?

I have been looking through postings in Egypt from the years 1953 to 55 and have not found anyone who severved in Tel el Kebir Maybe they dont want to admit to it, it was a bloody lousy place I was the office clerk at 2 sqn detachment 3 L of C signals The Det officer was Lt W.W. Burrows and the Det Sgt was Sgt Scott. anybody out there remember. I know it was a long time ago. A happy new year to everone
