“BRIAN’S” Blog & Updates
07/09/2010 07:39 - Wet morning today been raining a bit.
Jo and I spent a good part of the day at the hospital yesterday. I had my scan done and then went to the cardiac and chest clinic, that was to see if they were able to give me any idea of how long I was going to have to wait for the results of wearing the heart monitor for the weekend. They say around 6 weeks. Much too long I think, but then what can we do? I know what I will be doing, I’ll be on the phone and worrying the life out of them for an answer. I will just need the Doctors name who requested that I go for this scan.
After we left the hospital we did a bit of shopping and had some lunch out. I wanted to buy some new strides; I’m a bit peculiar as I like to buy Farrah’s. We went into a man’s shop in Southend to see if they had any that were ok there price was around £30 to £40 a pair. They had very little that would have fitted me and nothing that I liked. Jo remembered that there was a little mans shop not far from where we live that she thought sold Farrah’s so we went there on the way home, I got a new pair there that I liked for £15, all his Farrah’s were the same price. So I know where I will be buying mine from in the future.
We then went to the doctors to see about me having a B12 injection that I apparently have to have every 3 months. I have to go into the surgery on Wednesday and collect a prescription then take it to the chemists the chemist will then get the B12 in I then have to collect it from the Chemists and take it to the doctors so that he can inject it into me. What a performance. I have to do this every 3 months.
I have updated the site this morning.
06/09/2010 07:16 - Quite a nice looking morning at the moment.
It all went pear shaped again yesterday. We went to church in the morning as I said we would, the service was brilliant. There were 4 christenings, 2 little ones and 1 of the little ones parents. After the service we went to the church hall and had a cup of tea and a chat with various people. I got to have a cuddle with a little baby girl 1 of twins. That’s a change as normally I only get to cuddle boys as we have nearly all boys in our family.
Just as we were about to leave I felt the heart start to race again so I asked Jo to get us home. After we had been home for around 20 mins the heart still had not slowed down, so I called an ambulance and off we went to hospital again. They kept me there for around 1½ hrs then let us go home once they were satisfied that it was back to near normal.
Perhaps I had better keep away from church, it seems to happen every time |I go there.
In a while we are back to Southend hospital as I have to have the scan for the aneurism this morning. Then I have to see the surgeon who did my 2 carotid endarterectomies, he has to decide if they are ready to operate on and if so what he is going to do with them.
I have updated the site this morning.
05/09/2010 08:29 - A little bit of cloud here in Essex but it looks as though it will be nice.
Good day all, hope that you are all well and feeling on top of the world.
Yesterday Jo and I went out to our friends Heather and Bart for the evening, well we left home at 3-40. I had told them that I would do a couple of little jobs on their PC before the other Couple arrived. Unfortunately Jean & Dave were unable to make it as Dave was feeling rough yesterday. I did sort out H & Bs PC for them, took about 20 mins.
A bit later we sat down to a super roast dinner, Lamb, Potatoes, Parsnip, Onion, with Carrots, Runner Beans& New Potatoes. For desert we had a mixed fruit Pavlov, or Apple and Blackberry Pie with Cream or Ice Cream, both of the deserts were home made as well. excellent. I still feel full up this morning.
I thought the Hospital told me that I would only be able to eat small meals, I’m eating almost as much as I always have. Still it’s a good thing.
After dinner we sat and relaxed for a while and watched the X-factor, then played cards for the rest of the evening.
We got back home at 12-40. Gives an Idea of why I am so late posting this blog.
This morning we are off to church, let us see if I can do it this time without having to call an ambulance, the last twice I have been Jo had to. So my fingers will be x-d this morning.
I have updated the site this morning.
04/09/2010 07:20 - Another nice day dawns in Essex
Nothing new to tell you good people about. All is well with me. Jo and I went to our dance club last night so that was good. Up until now I have not had any more incidents of the palpitations so I am wondering if that was a stress related thing may well have been.
I have updated the site this morning.
03/09/2010 07:13 - Looking good in Essex this morning.
I don’t know what I did yesterday but somehow I forgot to do the blog, what sort of idiot am I .
Mind you I did not have a lot to say anyway.
I think that the site will be saved. I have 2 guys that are interested in saving it and keeping it running if I can get them to work together on it then perhaps it will be even better. The old saying 2 heads are better then one. I know I could very often have done with someone to give me a bit of support and backup. At one stage in the sites life there were 3 of us it was pretty easy then. But the other 2 fell off and left it to me. One of them even promised me that he would never let me down all the time he was alive, and that he would share all the costs with me. Still waiting. And he is not dead yet either
Don’t be bitter Brian.
The site has been updated this morning.
01/09/2010 06:43 - A nice bright morning in Essex
I Have a couple of offers in the pipeline re the takeover of the site, I will be having a chat and see where we go with it.
I also decided that I would give up my fish pond as well; keeping it going was work that I do not need at the moment. I advertised it on freecycle the fish etc all went with no trouble. So now I need to get someone to take the pond down and sort that little area out. But it also means less worry for Jo.
If you do not use freecycle I’d suggest it’s a good way of disposing of anything that you may want to get rid of but without it going into a landfill site.
I have updated the site this morning.
31/08/2010 06:02 - Dawn is breaking now it looks as though it will be a good day for Essex.
As some of you are most probably aware by now I am giving up running the site with effect from the 31st October 2010. I love the site and I get a lot of satisfaction in knowing that I have managed to help put old friends and in some cases families back in touch with each other. That is worth far more than the costs. Unfortunately my health is worth even more to me than that; I do have to consider Jo and also my grandchildren. So sadly unless someone who has the time on their hands and some idea of how to run a site comes forward this will be yet another site that goes to the wall. I will be prepared to support anyone who makes the offer, but it will only be as support.
I am off to my 2nd home this morning to return the heart n monitor to them I have to have it back between 8-30 and 9-30 this morning, I aim to be there at 8-30 as it is easy to park at that time in the morning. Then I have the wait to see what the cardiologist has to say, if it’s urgent they will phone and if it’s not they will write. The waiting game begins.
I have updated the site this morning.
30/08/2010 07:38 - Not too bad outside this morning., we have a clear blue sky.
Yesterday passed me by without a visit to the hospital, wonder if they missed me? I hope not. LOL!!! .
The F1 was quiet good yesterday; I think the weather made a lot of difference. It’s surprising what a difference a drop of rain makes to and F1 race. It was good to see Hamilton win a race on his driving merits alone. But it was a shame for Button getting knocked out in an accident with Vettel, I didn’t think the penalty to Vettel as strong enough. There you go though.
The weather here yesterday was rotten from about 10 o’clock onwards, rained on and off all day, the wind was really heavy and kept the trees bending most of the day. Not nice.
I have updated the site this morning.
29/08/2010 08:10 - A nice day ahead??
Yesterday was fairly quiet, I sorted out all my trousers that are now too big for me made sure they were all ok and took them to the charity shop along with some other bits and bobs.
We watched the qualifying for the F1 , and I helped Jo with a bit of tidying up.
Then a bit later on we started to do the dinner between us. I had another onset of palpitations; I gave it around 10 mins to see if it would settle down, then called for an ambulance and off to hospital again. We were there for around 2½ hours they then sent us home again after it had all settled down. So in the last 8 days I have been in the blooming hospital 7 times, the one day I didn’t go (Wednesday) my mate Dave went.
I asked them if there is any chance of having my own suite in there, or at least my own room. Let us see if we can get away with not having to go there today.
I have updated the site today.
28/08/2010 06:58 - Looks like a real nice morning here in Essex.
Well according to the weather forecast it is supposed to be a nice day today. Some say good enough for a barbie, we have not had a barbie this year so who knows maybe the time has come to give it a clean over and then light it for the first time in over 2 years.
Yesterday morning I had a phone call from the hospital to ask if I could go and have a heart monitor fitted. That was for 3.25 in the afternoon. So I said ok to that. Just after that Jo had another phone call from the chairlady of her townswomen’s guild. Asking if we would be in as she wanted to drop in and see Jo, so that was given the ok. Then a few minutes later a ring on the door bell a florist arrived with lovely big bouquet of flowers addressed to Jo and I that came from our very good friends Merle and Derrick. Jo had time to put the flowers into a vase and between us we had a quick tidy up, then Margery arrived bringing Jo a big potted Dahlia, at the same time as she arrived another neighbor arrived to speak to Jo. She is also a member of the guild. They both came in and stayed until almost lunchtime. So after they left we made our lunch, ate it and cleared up. It was then time to go to the hospital. We got there around ¾ of an hour early, good job as the car park was solid and it took 25 minutes to get in and find a space. We then went to the clinic and a young lady fitted the heart monitor on and told us all about it then we toddled of home, I have to take it back on Tuesday before 8-30 in the morning. When we got home it was almost time to start dinner, after we had our dinner we went to our dance club for the evening.
There is how to spend a day doing all the jobs in the house that need doing, NOT. On average I would say 3 out of every 4 days get spent in a similar fashion we say we are going to do something and then it all goes pear shaped because people drop in unexpectedly or we have to go somewhere or the other. No wonder my favorite lady is so stressed she is not getting enough time to herself to do her own things.
Moan over for today.
I have updated the site this morning.
